## About the bank

Eurasian Bank is one of the large private banks in Kazakhstan. In the finratings.kz catalogue on 16 October 2026 it is 9th by assets, at about 2.79 trillion KZT. The official website is eubank.kz. The bank has a mobile app for Android and iOS in which payment through Kaspi QR works.

For a foreigner, what matters more than the bank's size is whether it is willing to work with foreign clients.

## Account for non-residents

As of February 2025, according to the call centre, the bank had not resumed issuing cards to non-residents. At that time issuing was suspended across the industry after a new requirement: non-resident cards were issued for no more than 12 months. Some banks, including Kaspi, VTB and Halyk, soon returned to issuing, while Eurasian Bank was not on that list.

There are no current public terms for foreigners. To avoid wasting a trip:

  1. Get an IIN at a public service centre or through eResidency.
  2. Buy a Kazakh SIM card: the number is needed for bank apps.
  3. Call the bank and ask whether the chosen branch issues cards to foreigners, which documents are needed and what it costs.

From 21 September 2026 the ARDFM eases the checks on non-residents: the mandatory questionnaire is dropped, and a non-resident without a residence permit is no longer treated as high-risk only because of that status. The changes take effect 10 calendar days after the decision is first published. The bank may change its policy, but this is not guaranteed in advance.

## Cards and payments

The bank does not single out card products for non-residents. There is no information about Mir, and no confirmed data on the Faster Payments System (SBP) working in Kazakhstan. For everyday payments it is useful that the bank's app can pay through Kaspi QR, which is an ordinary local code, not the Russian SBP QR. If you need a card right away, look for a bank that issues cards to foreigners confidently, such as Freedom Bank Kazakhstan, Kaspi Bank or Bank RBK. For Mir, VTB (Kazakhstan) is the option.

## Fees and limits

The bank does not publish fees for non-residents. Known limits: card issue to foreigners was not resumed in February 2025; terms for Russian citizens are not described separately; there is no information on Mir and SBP.

## Who it suits

Eurasian Bank is worth keeping in mind for those who already live in Kazakhstan and can be served as residents, for example with a residence permit. If you are looking for a first non-resident account, start with other banks in the ranking.
